I just finished up my Pantone Project on Sunday but the weather has not cooperated with taking photos. Can you believe we got 6 inches of snow on Sunday night? Here’s a photo of our backyard today. The snow is melting, but it’ll be another day or two till it’s all gone.
I didn’t have a plan for what I wanted to work on next. I have a lot of WIPs in various stages of quilting and binding, but nothing lined up to piece, which is what I really love. So I started a new quilt that will take quite a while to get into a top.
The quilt is going to be for my brother-in-law, hopefully for his birthday this summer.
These are the fabrics I’m starting with. The background will be all low volume scraps. I’ve been wanting to get my scraps better organized, so this is taking a dent out of all the pieces left over from my penny patch. Yay!
The little squares are 1.5” which are the smallest pieces of fabric I’ve ever worked with.
What are you up to lately?
I love the little tiny blocks. I am working on log cabin using strips that are cut at 1.5 inches and the finished blocks are 5.5". We had lots of snow here in DC but it is melting away pretty fast. Can't wait for Spring to arrive with the 60º weather on Thursday afternoon. It was great to see you again at the AAC event with so many friends in tow. I am excited about working there next Sat. for our March sewing day/meeting.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that lime green fabric on top of the pile! I think that's my current favorite fabric color. I'm using Kona Cactus in my Pantone quilt. I'm almost done piecing the top. Can't wait to see your pillow! ;-)
ReplyDeletelove the new quilt you're working on Jamie. Is it Tone it Down one? It will look amazing in these colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the navy and green fabric.
ReplyDeleteI am so very jealous of your snow, I love snow, but all we had was wind and rain and lots of it.
Love your fabric pulled for this quilt. Those are some tiny pieces! I don't need to tell you to have fun, because I know you will :)
ReplyDeleteHope the snow is all melted off and you have some sun shining!
