A Little Giveaway Game

Lately I’ve  been obsessing about which fabrics to choose for my projects.  In the past I mostly used already coordinated collections for my quilts, but I seem to gravitate toward quilts that have a scrappier and more eclectic style, a certain quality I think can be lacking when I only use an entire range of a designer’s collection.

Enter the newest pumpkin tablerunner (is this one word or two!???).

Which fabric should I have chosen for the binding?  I took these photos to help me decide.

#1 Orange

#2 Green

#3 Yellow

Okay, now for the giveaway…which binding did I choose?  Everyone who chooses the one I picked will be entered in a drawing.  Make sure I have a way to contact you, and I’d love if you became a follower of my blog, although that’s not mandatory.

The prize is going to be 4 fat quarters, but I’m not sure which yet.  The local quilt shop is closing :( and I’m heading over there tomorrow to check out the fabric.  It’s all on clearance and they do have many fat quarters to choose from, so I’ll be picking them out tomorrow.

Good luck!  I’ll announce the winner Wednesday.

PS.  Mary of Needled Mom was the winner of my Fabric Fest loot giveaway.  Thank you to all who entered.  The package has been mailed and you should receive it Monday or Tuesday, Mary.

  3. I think the green pulls out the orange of the pumpkins best. #2 gets my vote. Can't wait to see what you did!

  7. Nice pumpkins!

That´s a hard one! I would have chosen orange (can´t believe I´m saying that either ;D but I like it here), the green gives a nice contrast but if you were going for a more scrappy feel you´d have chosen yellow. So: yellow!

  12. Definitely the yellow. Too bad you are losing a quilt shop.

  14. I think the green looks best, so I hope you agree with me =)

  15. I like the green, but I think the yellow would frame it nicely without as much contrast. So that is what I am guessing.

Sorry about the shop. When I first started quilting 2 years ago, there were 3 smaller shops less than 10 miles from my house, and one small and 2 larg ones that were more like 15 miles from my house. All of the small, close ones have now closed.

  18. Love the pumpkin table runner! Did you make it up,or use a pattern?

  22. Super Cute pumpkins! I do the same thing. I don't have much of a stash, so often it is just easier to buy a bundle and I work from that. But it is a little boring to do. One day, when I have a gazillion dollars, I'll have a stash and a way to make things with more than just one line at a time;) Until then, I'll just watch and learn as everyone else gets crazy with their fabric selections.

BTW, I love the yellow one the most. I almost always choose a binding with lines/stripes or polka dots. They just visually seem to bring more interest to me.

  27. Orange to make it sing. Green to be subtle. Yellow to be different.

  36. For some reason I really like the orange even though it would make for a very orange runner:) It is a darling runner Jamie!

  37. Love the green, I think it makes the pumpkins pop.

  38. I like the green the best. But, any of them would look good. Cute runner!

  39. I think first choice would have been orange, because it is so perfectly matched and balanced, But,, for getting out of a rut I think you would have gone for the yellow plaid, which is unexpected and lightens the whole feeling of the table runner! (so My guess is yellow!)

  40. The yellow is unexpected and fun... so I'm going with it!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd go with #3, the yellow. The orange blends with the pumpkins too much, and the green is a little overpowering for my taste. I like the whimsical touch added by the plaid!

  42. I hope you chose the last binding...creamy orange plaid. The others seem to compete with the quilt colors. Thanks for the giveaway! svonfumetti(at)yahoo(dot)com
