When my kids were little, sewing time was precious and hard to find. Now that they are older and more in a routine, it seems I have plenty of time to sew after bedtime, but very limited daylight hours to photograph any projects. Beth, a fellow DCMQG member, is hosting a fun fabric photography link up on Plum and June, which is the perfect excuse to practice my camera skills.
This photo was taken inside my sewing room on a windowsill in the morning. I’m pretty thrilled with how it came out. The colors are all very true to how the fabric looks in person and I just minimally adjusted the contrast in Picasa because photos always seem a little washed out when I upload them to my blog. I did retouch the wood of the windowsill, which is something I’ve never done before. Picasa made it simple and you can’t tell my kids have gouged out several small chunks of wood from the edge. Yay Picasa!
We are supposed to tell how many photos we took—4 in this case. I usually take most of my photos outside, but I was pleasantly surprised I could take a decent shot indoors. Thanks, Beth, for the inspiration to try something new!

Terrific photo! I use photoshop for pic editing. These photo programs are something else aren't they?!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. The natural light really highlights the colours. Rosette looks so pretty, we don't have Joann's in Australia, I wonder if we'll ever see it in the shops here? It's got a nice vintage look about it.
