MQG Madrona Road Challenge

This is the quilted pillow I made with the Madrona Road fabric provided by Michael Miller for The Modern Quilt Guild’s challenge.  You can see all the amazing projects here.

For the pattern I used the freezer paper method with templates.  Each block has 2 y-seams which was a first for me.  I used black, cream, and light gray Perle cotton to hand quilt inside each star.  Then I also quilted in the ditch with my machine.

The finished pillow measures 19” x 21”.  Have a fantastic Friday and weekend!  Linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday.

    It's beautiful, Jamie. Love your choice of fabrics, and this pattern is just perfect. You did such a good job on all those Y-seams!!!!

    Beautiful work. Your freezer paper piecing makes for very precise and crisp lines. I love the way you used both perle cotton to hand quilt and machine quilting.

    I am not a part of the Madrona Road Challenge, but I love looking at all the inspiring projects that have been popping up in blogland. Thanks for the link to the Flicker group. I have just sent the last few minutes enjoying all the wonderful creations.
