I’m Back!

Naomi Eugenie Skye arrived on April 23rd, very late at night, almost the 24th which happened to be my guess for her birthday.  She was 6lbs, 12oz.  Not my smallest baby, but she felt so fragile those first few days.

It was a bit complicated that first week (I had pre-eclampsia which developed into HELLP syndrome, so I had to be hospitalized again a few days after her birth) but now, almost a month and a half later she’s as sweet as can be and a good sleeper, that is as long as she’s snuggled by someone big and warm!  In case you wonder, she sleeps with us, which is what we did with all our kids.  Co-sleeping isn’t for everyone, but it’s what works for our family.

When she realizes I’m not hugging her anymore, she’ll wake up, which doesn’t help me find a lot of time to sew, but I have managed to sneak in a few Farmgirl Friday blocks from Lori Holt’s QAL.

I’m not sure what I’m going to make with these blocks, but I am enjoying picking the fabrics and sewing when I can find a few minutes to sit down at my machine!

  3. Congratulations! What a cutie. My daughter slept with us because it was easier for me--hard to get up and teach 6th graders all day without any sleep. You Farm Girl Vintage blocks are adorable. Well done!

Co-sleeping is what gets me some sleep at night. Couldn´t imagine to always get up for baby´s night snacks ;-)

  14. Congratulations! Late, but straight from my heart.

PS. We're co-sleeping too and I agree with you - it's not for everyone. Many people think that it's bad for kids, but I don't agree!
